Ever wonder how and when Spotify updates play counts on tracks? Our new Spotify clients certainly do. One of the services we provide are royalty eligible Spotify plays, so we are asked frequently how the play counter works and when new plays will show up on Spotify. Hey y'all! Quick question, how often are the stream count updated on songs? I've always thought it to be on a next day basis, for example: If I uploaded my track today and get streams, Day 1 would be < , and Day 2 would be 5000 Is that correct? Thank you very much for your input! :) ...

for the past week, spotify has not updated ANY play counts. i've seen it on several artists. and i did some testing by playing a few tracks a dozen times or so and still no updates. any idea when this will be fixed?
We don't update the play counts in real time today. Part of this is just due to the scale of the service. There are millions of people using Spotify at the same time, playing millions of songs around the world. So there is a lot of data happening there. We want to make sure that number is accurate.
Just look at my Spotify Top Songs playlist and my chart for albums and tracks. Spotify does that a ton. There are a lot of times where if it wasn't for finding just the right playlist I wouldn't have been able to push myself to exercise as much as I need to. I've tried a lot of different music streaming services but so far none have come close to providing me with as much meaningful enjoyment as Spotify. I really hope
